Qualified certificates

A qualified certificate is an electronic document that guarantees that a specific person owns the technological device used to sign a document.

A qualified certificate can be released only by Certification Authorities operating under direct control of a National Supervising Authority (in Italy it is AgID, Agenzia per l’Italia Digitale).

For the certificate to be released, the Certification Authority follows a strict protocol to ensure the identification of the subject who, under his/her name, is requesting the release of the qualified certificate.

The KeFirma^® system is integrated with the qualified e-signature services of the Namirial S.p.A Certification Authority, AgID accredited, European leader for e-signature services.

Therefore, those who own qualified certificates of remote signature released by Namirial can use the KeFirma^® portal to sign documents through strong authentication mechanisms provided by the same Certification Authority, namely: OTP on NamirialID App or SMS.
